Roman Day - the children used their Roman shields that they created for homework to trial a 'tortoise' defensive formation.

Other pupils were able to break through the shields with bean bags, throwing them in to the gaps. This was a real learning point as the pupils realised their shields were not uniform in size and shape. This gave another insight in to why the Roman army were so successful.
